We Built Our Own Clubhouse: Welcome to Talkin'Mets on the Korner

Somewhere along the way, being a Mets fan on the internet started feeling like shouting into the void. Endless hot takes. Endless arguments. Endless algorithms deciding what you should see. And eventually every Mets fan starts looking into the screen like Travis Bickle: “You talkin’ to me?”

So we decided to do something different. Talkin’ Mets on the Korner is the Kiner’s Korner community — a place for Mets fans who never really left. Live game threads, Mets history and memories, Hot Stove rumors, the farm system, broadcasters, and even a little Mets Therapy when September gets rough.

No algorithm deciding what you see. Just Mets fans talking Mets baseball.

You write a beautiful paragraph about the '73 rotation — the one

you've been polishing in your head since the Reagan administration —

and the algorithm shows it to eleven people, three of whom are bots

and one of whom is your cousin who thinks the Mets are a soccer team.

Meanwhile a guy who typed "LOL METS" gets 40,000 likes and a

podcast deal.

We got tired of building our community on rented land. So we built

our own clubhouse.

It’s called Talkin’ Mets on the Korner, and it lives where it should have lived all along: right here, on our own site. Multiple groups for every kind of Mets conversation, plus the ability for fans to create their own. Zero algorithms. No mysterious feed deciding what matters. Every post in chronological order — the way the baseball gods intended.

Here's the tour.

NEW TO THE KORNER is the front door. Tell us who you are, how

you became a Mets fan, and your favorite Mets memory. The Regulars

will take it from there. (If you landed here by mistake looking for

highlights — welcome! We don't have highlights. We have paragraphs.)

GAME DAY THREAD is where we watch together, first pitch to final

out. Live reactions, inning-by-inning therapy, and the occasional

all-caps meltdown. We don't judge. We've all been there.

METS HISTORY & MEMORIES is the attic — 1962 to today, the Amazin'

highs and the lovable-loser lows. It's also the home of our In

Memoriam series, honoring the Mets and Mets-adjacent legends we've

lost. Bring a memory, leave with three more.

THE HOT STOVE is for winter, when the rumors are the only baseball

we've got. Trades, free-agent dreams, "my cousin knows a guy"

reports. All speculation welcome — just cite your source. "Trust

me bro" counts. Barely.

DOWN ON THE FARM follows the kids at Syracuse, Binghamton, Brooklyn

and St. Lucie. Track the prospects, debate who's ready for the

call-up, and claim you saw them first. Everyone claims they saw

them first. That's the rule.

METS BROADCASTERS is our love letter to the voices: Ralph, Bob,

Gary, Keith, Howie. The catchphrases, the Kiner's Korner interviews,

the calls you can still hear in your sleep.

THE VENTING BOOTH, subtitled METS THERAPY, is where Mr. Met sits

behind the booth like Lucy with the football — except the football

is a 5-4 loss in September and he's heard worse. Probably today.

Blown saves and bad calls go here so the rest of the Korner stays

civil.

SHOW & TELL is your Mets shrine, our viewing pleasure. Bobbleheads,

signed balls, ticket stubs from games you swear you remember pitch

by pitch. Display only — this group's for showing, not selling.

That's the whole idea. No landlord. No algorithm deciding which of

your friends see your post. Just Mets fans talking Mets — opinions,

memories, arguments, laughs, and everything that comes with it.

Think of it as the old days on the Korner: pull up a chair, talk

baseball, hear a few different opinions, stay as long as you want.

The Korner's open. Come sit down. Talkin’ Mets on the Korner — come join us.
