The 2026 Mets Prediction Series: Francisco Lindor

We are now less than two weeks away from Opening Day, which means across Mets Nation the annual ritual has begun.

No, not spring cleaning.

Prediction season.

From now until the first pitch of the season at Citi Field, we’re going to spend a few minutes each day here at Kiner’s Korner doing something Mets fans love almost as much as debating, 50 years later, whether Yogi Berra should have started George Stone in Game 6 and Tom Seaver in Game 7 of the 1973 World Series.

Trying to predict the future of the New York Mets.

And since none of us actually owns a functioning crystal ball (mine was recalled in 1993 after predicting the Mets would win 110 games), we’re going to lean on the next best things:

The oddsmakers in Las Vegas and the statistical supercomputers that churn out projections all winter long.

So what do the baseball fortune tellers think about the 2026 Mets?

Let’s continue with Francisco Lindor.

What the Projection Systems Say

If Juan Soto is the thunder in the Mets lineup, Lindor is the engine that keeps everything moving.

The projection systems from FanGraphs and Baseball-Reference see another strong season coming from the Mets’ star shortstop.

After averaging all the projection models, the Kiner’s Korner Crystal Ball lands on:

26 Home Runs

80 RBIs

.260 Batting Average

22 Stolen Bases

Which is basically the modern Francisco Lindor starter kit: power, speed, defense, and enough energy to power half the borough of Queens.

Since arriving in Queens in 2021, Lindor has become the heartbeat of the Mets both on the field and in the clubhouse.

Over the past several seasons he has consistently delivered:

30-home run power

20+ stolen base speed

Gold Glove caliber defense

And about six months of nonstop smiles.

In 2025 he played 160 games, hit 31 home runs, stole 31 bases, and once again proved that durability might be his most underrated skill.

In an era where many players seem to need a scheduled day off after carrying two grocery bags inside from the car, Lindor shows up nearly every day.

So here’s where you come in, Mets Nation.

Will Francisco Lindor finish the 2026 season:

Francisco Lindor Under/Over 26 Home Runs

  • 0%Under

  • 0%Over

Francisco Lindor Under/Over 80 RBI

Francisco Lindor Under/Over .260 Batting Average

  • 0%Under

Francisco Lindor Under/Over 22 Stolen Bases

The computers have run the numbers.

The crystal ball has been consulted.

Now it’s your turn.
